Impressive Summer Update from the Writing program: Guest Blog by Adam Till

Toronto Film School’s Writing For Film & Television instructors and students alike are keeping quite busy as the summer begins.  Instructor Max Reid has been hired into the writing rooms for Gangland Undercover (History Canada) and Emmett (Aircraft Pictures).  Max’s busy schedule will keep him from teaching this term, but we hope to have him back with lots of stories this fall.

2014 Writing For Film & Television grad Anthony Feor has been hired by the Niagara Integrated Film Festival (NIFF) as a Site Leader for their events, and as their Social Media Planner and Copywriter.  Anthony is currently working on NIFF’s ‘World’s Smallest Film Festival’, which showcases 1-3 minute mobile shorts.

Instructor Kyle Muir has been active, writing for the animated DHX series Space Ranger Roger.  He’s also written several episodes of the NBC children’s series Terrific Trucks and is producing and set to star in the feature film Spy House for Sudden Storm Entertainment.

Fourth term Writing For Film & Television student Dan Bingham has received a prestigious internship with communications giant The & Partnership.  The & Partnership’s client list includes Telus and The Wall Street Journal and they have worked with top-tier artists including Will. i. Am.

Pug Puncher, a video game adapted by the Toronto Film School’s Video Game Design & Development and Video Game Design & Animation diploma students from 2015 Writing For Film & Television grad Alex Stacey’s original script, and voiced by current Toronto Film School Acting for Film, TV & Theatre students, was showcased at Steeles and Dundas Campuses last month.  Pug Puncher was extremely well received and talk of developing a related app has already begun.

Now in development with the video students is an adaptation of fourth term Writing For Film & Television student Bridget Tessler’s original script Bathrobe Samurai.  We look forward to another amazing game out of this impressive three-program collaboration.
