The Creation of a Collection – Photos of the Amazing Work of TFS Fashion Design Students

At Toronto Film School, term four Fashion Design Diploma students are tasked with creating a small collection.

They are required to research trends, develop a theme, or inspiration, and come up with a collection that represent who they are as designers.

Then, in term five, they are assigned the task of constructing seven pieces from their collection—from the pattern making process and muslin fitting, to the creation of the final garments—all work must be of industry standards and quality.

In term six these garments are used to create a portfolio of works. Many students have used theses collections as a start to their own fashion businesses, while others have used their portfolios to apply for industry jobs.

Here we see a sample of the amazing results from four Toronto Film School students.
